Confluence Outfitters conducts numerous spey clinics each year. We do both one-day clinics and two-day clinics. Our one-day clinics are narrowly focused, allowing students to work on specific skills. We usually run three separate one-day clinics in a row as a progression of skills.

There is more to spey casting than casting. Accordingly, we try to convey the best methods for fishing as well as the fundamentals of the various spey casts. Most of your time will be spent in the water with a fly on the end of your line. Spey casting is an extremely enjoyable and highly effective method for catching steelhead. We'll show you the techniques for hooking more steelhead with these great two-handed rods.

We have a full selection of Sage spey rods matched with Rio spey lines for you to try at every clinic.

Most of our spey casting is done with seven and eight weight rods in 12.5 to 14 foot lengths. There are occasions for using lighter and heavier rods.
